Some moments in leadership are more than announcements—they are homecomings. Today, I am overjoyed to welcome Renuka રેણુકા [Ren-e-ka] Kher ખેર [Care] as Beyond 12's new Chief Operating Officer—a role that feels less like a beginning and more like a natural next chapter in a journey that started long ago.

Renuka has been with Beyond 12 since the very beginning—when the idea was just a whisper, a seed of possibility that I shared with a few trusted advisers back in 2008. She was one of the first to believe—not just in the vision but in me as an entrepreneur.  She was one of the first to say, "Yes, this must exist. Yes, you must lead. Yes, I will stand with you."

Over the years, she has been a relentless champion, mentor, strategist, friend, co-conspirator, board member, board chair, and even Interim CEO when I took a much-needed sabbatical. Simply put, she is one of the most brilliant and thoughtful leaders with whom I have ever worked.

Her operations expertise speaks for itself, but what truly sets her apart is her heart. She understands that systems and strategies alone do not build movements—people do. She leads with that truth woven into every action, infusing every space she enters with warmth, clarity, and an unstoppable drive to get things done. Her laughter is infectious, her insights profound, and her impact undeniable.

As we continue our work to close the college degree divide and ensure that students from historically underserved communities earn the degrees and credentials they need to lead choice-filled lives, I can’t think of a more extraordinary partner to help us envision the next evolution of Beyond 12 during this crucial moment. You see, Renuka does not merely do the work; she elevates it. She does not just solve problems; she transforms them into opportunities. She does not just lead; she uplifts.
