How to Coach Students Without Trying to ‘Fix’ Them

How to Coach Students Without Trying to ‘Fix’ Them
March 25, 2021

Our digital coaching platform and virtual coaching curriculum at Beyond 12 are based on an executive coaching model called “Co-Active” coaching, the foundation of which is the belief that the students we are honored to serve are “creative, resourceful, and whole” and capable of finding the answers to their challenges with the right resources and guidance. Our students are not broken and do not need to be fixed. Instead, we need to redesign our higher education system so it is more accessible, affordable, and equitable – and prepares all students to thrive in a global economy. Thanks to Goldie Blumenstyk, senior writer at The Chronicle of Higher Education, for featuring our work and story in the latest episode of her podcast, “Innovation that Matters.”
